Varisco Self-Priming Pumps

Varisco was founded in 1932 in Padua Italy by Ettore Varisco, launching a legacy in fluid‑handling technology. Over the decades it has built a strong global reputation for reliable pumps designed for demanding fluids including abrasive slurries and wastewater. Since 2016 Varisco has been part of the Atlas Copco Group where it belongs to the Industrial Flow Division, offering engineered solutions across drainage lubrication and fluid transfer markets

Varisco Pumps headquarters and R&D centre remain in Padua where rotodynamic and volumetric pumps are developed and extensively tested. Varisco specialises in self‑priming centrifugal pumps with semi‑open impellers and internal gear pumps for high viscosity fluids and slurries. Their designs emphasise durability ease of maintenance and adaptability for industrial municipal agricultural and marine applications.

VARISCO PUMP RANGES

J Series

The J Series comprises industrial self‑priming centrifugal pumps with open impellers built to handle polluted wastewater and abrasive fluids with suspended solids. Typical flow rates range from 3 m³/h to 1 200 m³/h, with heads up to 110 m depending on the model. The range includes various configurations: bare‑shaft (JS), close‑coupled electric (JE) with IEC motors, ATEX‑rated (JX), hydraulic versions (JO, JP) or engine‑driven sets. They often incorporate back‑pull‑out design and easily removable casings for rapid inspection or component replacement. Common applications include sewage treatment grey water transfer marine bilge pumping slurry pumping and industrial waste management.

ST‑R Series

The ST‑R Series targets heavy‑duty “trash” and solids handling duties. These self‑priming pumps feature an open impeller designed for high abrasion resistance and large solid passage, up to 76 mm. A standout feature is the front inspection cover allowing access to the impeller and internals for clearing blockages or servicing without dismantling inlet pipes or removing the pump from site. The rotor assembly can also be removed from the rear while the pump remains mounted, minimising downtime. Standard materials include cast iron hardened cast iron and some stainless interiors. Applications include wastewater treatment dredging agricultural slurry handling and marine or industrial dewatering.
